Original Poem: Take (Spring, 1997)

Jan 11, 2009 22:57

Take my sight that you may see
The world I’ve come to know
And my soul that you may glimpse
Its ever-present glow

Take my heart that you may feel
The loneliness that beats
And my hands that you may touch
The wholeness when we meet

Take my arms that you may hold
The most adoring form
And my blood that you may cure
The cold and tired storm

Take my past that you may free
The darkest memories
And my fear that you may calm
My insecurities

Take my scars that you may heal
The secrets deep inside
And my voice that you may speak
The words of love that bind

Take my smile that you may kiss
The lips of perfect pride
And my love that you may keep
That part of me inside

Take my dreams that you may find
The things that cannot be
And my tears that you may cry
In understanding me.
