John Cage Quote (because they are good for you):
Artists talk a
lot about
freedom.
So,
recalling the expression
“free as a bird,”
Morton Feldman
went to a park one
day and spent
some time
watching our feathered friends.
When he
came back,
he said,
“You
know?
They’re not
free:
they’re fighting
over bits of food.”
----------
That was beautiful; although, running after breadcrumbs often leads to a stumble into beauty. That's how I found this quote, by chasing breadcrumbs on the internet: I opened this journal looking for something totally different but instead found this Cage quote. A totally common occurence on the internet, as in life, neh? So I for one intend to keep scrabbling after bits of food, and hope everyone else does too, elsewise it will be rather lonely and bereft of other peoples' [incidental] creations (of which, though my humunculus disagrees with me, I am extremely promotional).
