Was reading a case today for contracts class. The point of the case was obvious, but the reasoning was rather difficult to grasp considering it was a case from 1863. It is amazing how sometimes these old cases read like a different language. Well as if that wasn't annoying enough I ran across this PAGE from the case (the case is only 3 pages): "We base our opinion on Civil law expectations more fully developed in 1.23 which states 'Si ex legati causa, aut ex stipulatu hominem certum mihi debeas......'" This goes on for over a page with no translation.
Oh yeah, now I really understand your reasoning since you wrote it all in Latin! Thanks.... no really, thank you for wasting my time. I knew i should have just wikipedia'd the case from the beginning.
