Technically, Barricade doesn't care what you think. The more you hate him, the more he LOVES it.  Yum yum.  Nonetheless, he gets that you need to have a place to spill some spleen on his pure Hatred Awesomeness, so...here ya go

I have some questions regarding some of your recent developments with Barricade. Now, I realize he's been thrown into a strange and hard situation, being on a boat filled with squishies and no Decepticons but a few Autobots, but I noticed your post with Barricade asking how to ask a human female out.

I figure this is Vie, since he's had a bit of a crush on her as far as I know? I was wondering how this came about, since from what I saw of Barricade in the movie (though admittedly it's been a while) he didn't seem very fond of humans. Pretty hateful of them, in fact. And while I don't expect him to stay GRAR at them forever on the boat, or even constantly, wanting to engage in some kind of romantic relationship with one strikes me as a bit strange.

I realize character development can change things, and I haven't been following his too closely, admittedly. But he's only been on board for two or three months? This does seem a little soon to be reconciling his hate for them enough to want to ask one out.

I realize this is a bit rambly but I hope I got my point across. Thank you for reading.

Yes, I completely understand your point. Honestly, he spent his first month pretty much hating everyone and that got him...precisely nowhere. People would drop tags with me after like...2 exchanges. It was really depressing and I reached a point where I said I had to do something to change that or I'd have to drop, because I got the feeling that while he/I are REALLY good at pissing people off, that's...not a great way to build real CR, and that since I knew precisely nobody here (still don't) you know, sometimes you wonder if people think YOU are like your character if you choose to play a jerk.

So, I came up with it after he got turned into a human and Vie threatened to kill him if he touched her. Yeah, it's a tissue thin premise. It would work with how power structures work in the Decepticons--that threats of bodily harm = affection. I think he's confused/intrigued by the physical urges, but it's not...romance, really. He has no conception of that.

In canon/ fanon he actually hates Autobots far more than humans--humans got in his way, but Autobots were the real pains. And this isn't a major change of 'yay now he loves humans'--he has an uncomfortable physical urge directed at one semi-human in particular and he doesn't know what to do with that. (And there's SOOOO much fanon that pairs him with humans! OMG)

So, in short, yes, your objection is completely valid. I'm sorry. I was just trying to think of something to *do* with him and..that was the best I could come up with based on the very little CR he'd had up to that point. I'm new to RP and I thought it would at least give other something to have fun with.

I see where you're coming from with that. For the CR part, I think this has been mentioned before but you might want to try a more engaging sort of hate? The kind where instead of going "you all suck /hangs up" you go "you all suck, and I can prove it by [x]" or something specific that's largely to piss people off so they'll argue with you.

And of course, the requisite 'tag other people as well' note.

(As a sidenote, while you may think you're pissing people off, you probably aren't? We love to have our characters hate, and hurt them, after all.)

I realized he doesn't love them, and even having those kinds of physical urges doesn't bother me. It's how he's acting on them, I think. I don't think he'd actually ask her out, to be honest, but he might start being mean to her, or trying to find a way to ignore the feelings? These are just possible suggestions, not the end-all be-all of it, of course.

And if you're hard-up for something to do, I'm totally up for plotting! This chickie is an android. He might have some fun with 'scans as robot looks like squishie.' Or you can go into chat and ask, or post to the plot comm. Etc etc <3

I was going to edit but then I realized that you might be replying so...

On the Autobot/Human front, he didn't seem very fond of either of them. Sure, he hates Autobots more, but it seems like he takes a lot of joy in... squishing them. Or interrogating them, just an observation.
