Prayer, positive thoughts, etc...

Two public posts in a row?!  The world must be ending!  :-P

But no, in all seriousness, prayer, positive thoughts, good energy, whatever you believe in would be greatly appreciated for the people of Haiti.  Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere and, if you have not heard, there was a massive earthquake (about 7.0) centered right under the capitol.  Massive loss of life is expected.

Please pray for - and, if possible, donate some money to - these amazing people.  Lori, Licia and the rest of the wonderful people of the Real Hope for Haiti Rescue Center have dedicated their lives to healing the sick - especially malnourished children.  They are Christian, but they don't force it upon their patients.  They just love Haiti, and love the people of Haiti.  Any money you could donate would go directly to buying food, medicine and supplies to help people who are injured and have no where else to go. See, in Haiti, before getting any sort of medical care, you have to buy all the supplies needed to treat you.  For example, if you need stitches, you need to buy the anesthesia, sutures, bandages, etc. before the doctors will treat you.  As a result, many people cannot access medical care because they cannot afford to buy the needed supplies.  In a natural disaster of this magnitude, that means that many people who desperately need medical don't get it.  Places like the RHFH Rescue Center are the only places many people have to go.  They treat without regard to financial status, ability to pay, etc.  And, if the people that they are treating die, they will pay for a burial if the family cannot afford it.

Please pray for the children of this wonderful woman.  Corey opened her heart and home to 5 children from Haiti.  Their birth families (who they have contact with and support financially) live near the epicentre of the quake.  They don't know if the parents are alive, injured or dead.

And, if you can do nothing else, please simply pray for the people of Haiti.

Thank you so much.

pray, haiti
