sdgjhskdfh. Hi guys. I haven't updated in foreverrrr, even though I had a week and a half off of work before having to go back to school. I went to Atlantic City! I got highlights while I was up there. And they had the best candy store ever.
Today was first day of school. I actually felt sad... senior year and all.
Also, I didn't get Latin III. :| s my d counselors, y u lose my papers.
I was thinking the other day and have come up with something from it. As I listened to the HGSS soundtrack, I found there were songs that I just did not remember for the life of me.
I fear I am losing my memory.
Anything before seventh grade is just barely a blur to me. Which is sad, since I know my most favourite memories were when I was in early elementary school. All my friends discuss the teams they had on Red/Blue/Yellow or on Gold/Silver/Crystal. When they ask me, I only manage a stutter. I know I had Red, Yellow, Gold, and Silver; however, I cannot for the life of me remember which 'Mons I trained, what I named them, or if I even completed the games.
I remember trading my Yellow version off for Red version for the reason that the guy said he would get me Mew. I never saw him again after that. I remember seeing his completed save file, then just erasing over it.
That's the kind of player I was: once I got bored with a file, I would just restart. I sat back in my chair and fought with my mind. But I cannot remember the starter I chose during that gen. Nowadays, I just tell everyone I started with Bulbasaur, when I really probably started off with Squirtle.
As for GSC era, I had gotten both Gold and Silver for my birthday. And I played them on my old gray Fatboy. My memory at this time is slightly better. I know I picked Chikorita as a starter and my best friend picked Cyndaquil. She had hers nicknamed, however... I cannot remember. I only remember it was nicknamed because when she moved away, I started a new game with a Cyndaquil nicknamed like hers.
After this is when Pokemon stopped getting popular in my area. Along with it, I let my love for it fade away as well.
I never remember catching any legendaries, battling Red at the top of Mt. Silver, or watching any credit sequences. I see my friends nostalgia hard at listening to old RBY/GSC soundtracks, but I can only pretend to nostalgia with them.
As I was getting ready to move onto another train of thought,
the GBC Pallet Town music played from my playlist. And I bawled.
Cherish your memories, flist. For those of us who simply cannot remember.
