Weekend wrap-up Pre-Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Plans

Nov 26, 2008 05:36

The last weekend was rather fun!  ;-P  ..now that I'm finally posting.    ..and I'm only up this early cuz I'm driving Mary Ann to the airport to catch a flight to Oklahoma to visit her family.  Normally, I'm not much of a morning person.

Friday night some of the motorcycle group made a pilgrimage out to the Silver Slipper for Andy's birthday.  Remember, it goes like this - Chicago--Naperville--Aurora--BFE--The Slipper.    We got Andy totally humiliated by the Lovely Lillian (he loved EVERY SECOND of it) and ended up getting back into the city around 4am.  Ugh!

[Edited cuz I'm brain-dead at 5am!!]
Saturday during the day it was the six of us (Rob, Christi, Mary Ann, me, and Chris/Aimee) helping them defrag (organize) their storage unit in preparation of their impending house move. They have so much stuff and such a small space it's really a testament to their relationship that they don't strangle each other. ;-) before we left Aimee caffinated us and shared some delicious rasberry muffins. Mmmm. After doing much heavy lifting and rearranging they were kind enough to take us all out for Sushi at the Elgin Sushi Station! YUM! You can bribe us with sushi any time! ;-)

Saturday night out for hookah and pizza with Justin and Karen was a nice treat!  I haven't seen them enough lately.  ;-)

Sunday was a Labyrinth screening and yummy Giordanos pizza followed by decadency at the Ghirardelli chocolate store.  A quickie visit to Borders and harassment of Jynell was good timing.  We didn't get her paged, we were nice.  LOL  I wish we had gotten a better picture, but there was a woman dressed up as Jerath who got up and danced to the end-credits Rocky Horror Style.  Her costume was DEAD ON, but she didn't stick around much for pix.

Thanksgiving plans are pretty relaxed - it's just me and my Mom - so no extended family or anything to deal with.    I'll get over to her place early on Thursday and help prep the meal and we'll have turkey, etc.  And just sit around and kibbitz.  ;-)

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!  Stop to appreciate those who are in your life, and remember fondly those who are gone.

friends, fun, silliness, holidays
