Aware 10k...
...was this morning. Beautiful morning for it, but incredibly cold, and that meant frost. Everywhere. All over the course, which meant half the time was spent trying to find the least icy part of the road.
I finished in 1.06.15 by my watch, and 1.05.59 by the chip timing. I'm slightly disappointed with the time because I was hoping for something more like 0.59.* (I want sub-hour to get a good start number for the Mini-Marathon!), but there's not much I can do about it when the course is (a) hilly and (b) as slick as a billiard ball. I've also not really had the ideal preparation because I've been so busy with college stuff lately, it's been a tight squeeze trying to fit in 2 runs during the week and a longer run on Sundays. My longest training run before today had been 5 miles/8km.
Ah well, here's to next time under an hour!
