My marriage is a zombie

My marriage is a zombie

It died from the screaming and the shouting
It died amid wild accusations
It died in the yelling and the fighting
It died during drunken fits of temper
It died out of neglect
My marriage is a zombie 'cause it died last night

It lumbers on despite the lack of caring
It lumbers on without any motivation
It lumbers on while my son sits watching
It lumbers on like it's on autopilot
It lumbers on no matter what I do
My marriage is a zombie 'cause it won't stay dead

Should I try to revive it
Should I try to feed it brains
Should I just give up
Throw it underneath a train
My heart goes back and forth
Should I give it one more try
My mind races wildly
I scream and then I cry
Should I try to keep it buried
Get a heavier headstone
It's like Nosfaratu
It goes to sleep at dawn

It's dead, but nobody seems to notice
It's dead, but we still have dinner
It's dead, but I'm not done crying
It's dead, but it still needs killing
It's dead, but I don't know what to do
My marriage is a zombie 'cause it's undead
