What are you doing New Year's...
Just popping in to wish y'all a Happy New Year. May 2009 be filled with good things for us all. Have fun at whatever you decide to do tonight, celebratory or otherwise.
Me? I'm going low-key. Feeling tired and like I could catch the crud at any moment, so I'm taking vita-meta-veggimins and trying to sleep enough and stuff. So over to mikigarrison 's to watch movies and eat food and popcorn and stuff. There might be chocolate. There might be a secret dessert. (Secret dessert!!!!) Ahem.
As for job news, teh jobness is going very well. I have spent most of today hip-deep in translation-addon-database work, getting the survey to make a certain amount of sense in Spanish (hopefully) and checking for consistency. I created parts of the survey yesterday in the database to match the documents that we're working from. I'm reading IRB documents and grants and proposals and looking up words like iatrogenic (good word...) and trying to be intelligent and helpful and productive. And I have a phone now! And a name plate on my cubicle! I'm like, a real employee and everything! It's very exciting. I have my very own keycard, and a discount card that employees get to local restaurnts and other services, and my benefits package arrived that I have to go through and figure out. And I think I get paid on Friday. Woohooie!
So anyhoo, have a happy. I'd be all philosophical n' crap, but I'm just not up for it. Perhaps in the new year. Or maybe it's best if I just leave that alone...
