Na Na Why Don't You Get A Job

It's Official!!!! I am jobbed! I have been offered, and accepted, a job with Children's Hospital here in Seattle as a Research Assistant! I owe much thanks and gratitude to mikigarrison  who made me aware of the job and also brought me to the hiring Dr's attention. And practicing my interviewing skills with me, which is part of what put me over the top, apparently. So many thanks to my good friend. I'm so very, very happy. I'm in shock. This is exactly the sort of job I was aiming for when I started looking over a year ago. It took a long time, and networking, and trying, and luck, but I've managed it. I start on 12/22. There'll be a big learning curve, but I'm looking forward to it. There's a lot of really neat stuff going on for this project.

So now I just have to let the temp agency know, and this company, and, um, I'm not sure of the protocol on that. I feel guilty about leaving them in the lurch already, but there were other candidates up for this job, so hopefully one of them will be available.

I'm totally buying myself something fab for lunch to celebrate!!!! (Again. Went out to dinner last night on the strength of the interview and a little hopeful insider information.)

YAY ME!  I'M SO EXCITED!!!
