Ain't no big deal, it's innocent....

I feel I should post, or update, or do a con report of Orycon, but I'm afraid I don't have a lot of oomph in me at the moment, so forgive me for being a little on the hasty and shortshrift side. I shall blame it on the weather. Although it's sunny today. But still dang cold. (Those of you who live snowy places may laugh uproariously at this. I don't blame you. But I am still insisting that I am cold, and so I switch my complaint of the summer from being too hot to this - these windows need better insulation either way, really.)

Anyway, went to Orycon this past weekend, and I had a really good time. bhagwanx  and I managed to get down there without mishap and only one pit stop, and the leak in the ceiling on the 7th floor was near our room, but not too near, and didn't affect us really other than our reporting it. So that's good. I saw far too many people to name reliably, especially as it's been a few days, but I was happy to see everyone and spend time chatting. I didn't go to any programming this time around, because I just didn't feel up for it. Things being what they are, and my attention span being what it is. The dance Friday night was seriously sub-par when we checked it out, and jens_fire  and I were Not Pleased. So after going back and forth to the Radcon party for awhile, several of us called it a night and decided something or other was the better part of valor. Some of us didn't, but that's another story and no comment, really. Saturday night the dance was a bit better. lasirenadolce  and jens_fire  and I and several others (karindira , I think that's her lj handle...) boogied when the music didn't suck too muchly, although it did a lot of that. There was a list that one of us gave the DJ, and when he'd play songs from that list, the floor would fill up and there would be happy shouting dancing people. When he went back to playing angry angsty goth or techno, the floor would empty slowly and everyone would sit back down or leave. Um, hello, clue! After giving up on the dance, although they did play "Love Shack" twice (change of DJs, I think) we went up and boogied and chatted in lasirenadolce  's room for awhile. (I believe she has some pictures, if you're interested.) Then that whole valor being better than falling down because you're too tired to stand up thing caught up with us, and we went for teh sleeping. The next day we left in the early afternoon, and my sweetie convinced me (it was very hard to, I know) to take a detour when we were almost home and get Dairy Queen. Which is quite a detour, because many Dairy Queens do not have chocolate. I believe I have ranted about this before. But this one does, and chocolate soft serve was had, and then we finally made it all the way home.

There was lots more to the weekend, and many other people I was happy to see and chat with (Hi Ken! Hi Jay ) and some new faces it was nice to meet, but my brain, she is done. Also, I have lots of other typing to do today, and random preperatory Turkey Day things to do. So, um, sorry about that.

Anyway, home again, home again, and Abby was happy to see me. Thanks again magik_woman  for looking in on her on Saturday. She was kind of mad at me, but seems to have survived and even eaten her food. (!)

In other news, not a lot. Job prospects on the horizon, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. Speaking of which, I have to get some I.C. work for Allegis done. Have a happy Turkey Day, everyone. Spend time with friends and loved ones and stay warm.

cons, holidays, jobs, stuff, jumping up and down, fun, abby
