Takes me away to where I've always heard it could be...
Holy F*!%ing Crap! Okay, only a quickie here guys, but swimming with dolphins? Completely and utterly incredible. They're Hector's dolphins, smallest in the world, and the most rare. They were wild. We got in the water. We made intensely foolish noises to attract them. We were wearing sadly not at all attractive wetsuits, but they kept us warm in the water. (We are further south. The water is no longer warm. But still blue.) We were swimming at the edge of the Pacific ocean, in a blasted out volcano crater, outside the town of Akaroa. The dolphins came and checked us out, swam around us, shot the waves between us, and probably thought we were stupid looking sand monkeys. But I just kept laughing out loud. We were out there for about an hour and a half, in the water. Laughing. Trying to keep our legs under us, as the wetsuits were so bouyant that they kept floating up. I had a lot of trouble swimming in it like i normally would, but treading water kept me pretty upright. Except when I misjudged a wave and got splashed in the face. Seawater is not a pleasant taste. But oh, my god. I'm so happy! It was so much fun. I'd totally spend the money on that again. I'm going to sleep well tonight, folkses. Wow. That was so wonderful. I'll have fabulous pictures to show you when I get back.
