Merry Christmas Baby, ok?

Quick post while scanning tapes for work...

Put up the tree on Sunday, with a lot of help. Not from the pets, though. They were distinctly not helpful. Although neither of them has broken any ornaments yet. Mingus has finally decided that the fuzzy stocking ornament that looks like a toy might not actually be a toy. With a lot of yelling. He's still a tad miffed that I had to move his chair to the other side of the room so I could put the tree by the window. Now he can't sit and look out, and he's very confused as to why that must be. Abby is just miffed in general, but that's really no different than any time.

While putting said tree up, we listened to a Muppet xmas album that was bought that day, that has Pepe singing "Merry Christmas Baby," which was worth the price of the album alone. The other songs, there were a few good ones, and a few sucky ones. The album is newer, and does not have Frank Oz on it. So with the sad there. Also listened to "A Twisted Christmas," which is, you got it, Twisted Sister doing xmas songs. F&*#ing hilarious, except for the first song, which blew. Rocking it the twisted way.

Baked some cookies, exploded some flour when I accidentally moved the mixer on too high of a level, um, yeah. Baking those cookies over again. They came out weird. I was kind of experimenting, anyway, and it didn't work as well as I'd like. Oh, well, what's one more batch among dozens, really?  We also watched White Christmas while baking, which I love. And ate a few cookies. Just to test them. You understand.

Oh, and for those of you playing along at home, the basement guy? Wants $7,000 to dig a trench in my basement along the inside of teh footing, put in a drainage pipe, cover it back up, put in a sump pump, and drain into the sewer the water that inevitably will now get into the house through cracks. Because my exterior drainage pipes on the foundation are old and probably broken and clogged. So it would be more money and mess to dig outside the house and get to those, than to do this. I'm ... disappointed. And calling other companies for more estimates. Yikes. Um, this project won't be started until sometime in January at the earliest. And we'll see if I can afford new wiring and new windows after that. Holy famole.

This weekend is the weekend of the holiday parties. I still have lots of baking to do, and other home-made present projects to finish. Trying to get the ones I have to mail done first, so I can get them to the PO on Monday. Zoiks and away.
