Cruel Summer

I now have kicky summer hair. (pictures later, if I can figure out how to do it) I decided I needed a bit of a change, and so when I went to have my hair trimmed, I decided I wanted more highlights. Then when he asked me what I wanted for a cut, I said "No bangs, and I have to be able to put it up in a ponytail, but other than that, I really don't know. You help." So he did. My hair is now lighter, and comes to just below the tops of my shoulders, and has more layers on the bottom. It's still long enough to put up in a ponytail, but it's difficult to put it in a bun. Not impossible, but it's a messy bun. Oh, well, I hardly wear my hair like that except for showers that I'm not washing it, and if it's really hot. But everyone so far has said my hair looks cute, so I'm going with that. I'm still getting used to it.

I heard back from my agent about the rough draft I sent her. She likes what I have so far, and had some good suggestions. And I think I've made a breakthrough in a couple places. I'm trying them out. I have some scenes roughed out that I'm liking the feel of. Could be what I needed to kick this puppy into gear. We'll see. Things are continuing hectic with random bits of chaos, so writing is always one of those things that I have to carve out time for, and some days there just isn't any left to carve. And sometimes when I do, I stare at the paper or the computer and think, "crap. I so suck." Trying not to go down that path. Life is not for wimps. Unfortunately, I keep struggling not to be one. Oh, well.
