Hello Again, Hello

Mar 24, 2010 15:32

It's that time of year again: yes, when I plug my dance studio eXit SPACE and ask any and all locals to come watch our 5th annual show take/PAUSE, this year held on April 24th at 8 p.m. at the Broadway Performance Hall (1625 Broadway Ave, Seattle). We're putting on a phenomenal show with dancers from the adult program classes (like me) and local dance companies Redd Legg Dance, PG Boyz, and Northwest Dance Syndrome. We're going to dance our patooties off, people, which should be something to see. The types of dance in this concert will be Modern, Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop, and Ballet. A big ol' mish-mash, in other words. Something for everyone.

I am personally in three pieces, two modern and one jazz. All of them are currently kicking my butt, so you know that I'm working really hard to bring you guys my guts and all the breath from my lungs as I dance out my soul. Or something equally stirring but possibly less messy. And the choreography is pretty dang cool, I think. I've seen some of the other pieces, and I know they impress me a lot, so I'd like to share the talent and spirit of all these wonderful dancers and choreographers with you all. Come see the show.

I'll repost when the studio sends out all the relevant info next week, but I wanted to get a jump on it and let y'all know. Usually you can buy tickets at Brown Paper Tickets, once it's listed with them. Consider supporting a local studio, and coming out for an evening of fabulous, fun dancing! I promise not to spill any of my guts on you on purpose. But it should be entertaining to watch me fling myself around stage with abandon, and hopefully within the parameters of the choreography. Ahem. Dancing! Yay!
