[A public message scribbled hastily in the middle of the night:]

The pirates have come to shore! They've set the dock ablaze and are looting shops and houses street by street.

Evacuate all townspeople to Fort Charles immediately!

[A Private Note to Suzanne:Suzanne, forgive me, I though I knew what was best. The pirates might not be stopped ( Read more... )

OI! DON'T DROP THAT BOX AND GET IT BACK TO SHIP! What are ya, an idiot? Oi, you! Are you new or somethin'? That fire'll go out in a minute. COME ON, MAKE OUR CAP'N PROUD!

[After bossing some of the pirates around Shura fixed her hat and ran towards the large building in front of her. It looks like some rich bastard was fool enough to stick around. She grins, entering the building and calling out in a sing-song voice.]

Hellooooooo~! Is anybody in here?

[John hadn't slept since Sunday. It didn't matter if a pirate got him at this point; he was so exhausted he could just lie down in the thoroughfare and he wouldn't care if anyone saw. He'd limped back to his home - leg practically numb from the hip down - and into his drawing room, planning on taking his documents and seals and letters and escaping to the governor's house to find Suzanne.

He heard the noise downstairs and sighed in resignation. They'd found him.]

Hello~?

[She practically skipped upstairs and found the idiot in his drawing room, looking resigned.]

Awww, are ya makin' it easy on me? Yer so nice.

[Grinning with a mad glint in her eye she unsheathed the sword on her belt, pointing the tip in his direction.]

Since yer bein' so nice how about you write down where you keep the money and really good valuables? Then I'll put you outta yer misery.

[The Magistrate glared at the pirate, suddenly finding a bit more energy to at least be a little defiant. He glanced down at the sword as if it was some annoying insect, then reached into his pocket for his pipe.]

Do you know how many pirates I've seen hanged?

[She looked positively gleeful that he was finally being defiant. She enjoyed talking back after all.]

Do ya know how much I care? Yer an old man wearin' hair that ain't even yer own. I bet ya have more fat than muscle to ya. Just own up to the truth. You can't put up a fight and there's nobody to take orders from ya and save yer ass.

[He reached for the tinderbox on his desk, lighting and puffing on the pipe with very deliberate, slow moments.]

They always say the same thing, these condemned murderers and thieves. They always beg me to spare them. 'Mercy, Magistrate, have mercy on me. I swear, I'm an honest, Christian man. I swear, I only joined their crew to save me life. I swear, I'm a good man.' [He chuckled.] That one, that one's always my favourite. And some of them are telling the truth, but most of them....

[The Magistrate blew tobacco smoke over his shoulder.] I'm not scared of you.

Tch, you've met some pathetic people. Tell me, Magistrate, are you a good man?

[She looks more amused than anything.]

'Cause I can tell ya I ain't a good woman, I ain't a Christian, and I sure as hell ain't honest.

[Her sword flicks up, cutting at the pipe.]

[He watched the pipe fall to the ground with an annoyed frown on his face. He didn't answer her question. Maybe he wasn't the best of men, but he wasn't the worst either.]

You'll swing one day.

[In a sing-song voice:]

I wouldn't be~t on i~t!

[She sobered up a bit though the smirk stayed on her face.]

Now, about those valuables...?

[He stood straight and tried to stop his leg from trembling. It ached like hell, but he'd rather suffer the pain than seem like he was quaking from fear.]

What makes you think I'd ever give into your demands?

SPAAAAAAAM underthehoodie February 21 2012, 23:31:53 UTC
Because if you don't give in soon I get to kill you. Then I'll just look for the valuables myself.

But you'll kill me anyway.

[A devilish glint appears in her eye.]

Is that yer final answer?

[There were two options for Magistrate Watson. The first was to relent to the pirate: be humbled, be humiliated, and be horribly injured (but probably just killed). The second was to stand his ground: be brave, and be most certainly killed.

He thought of Suzanne. No matter how this played out - whether he took the first or the second option - it was likely he'd never get to see her again.]

Get out of my home.
