[The camera comes on to show Geoffrey at a location quite far from the beach, well into the middle of Limbo. He's obviously been wandering around for a bit in his wet clothes -- which consist of some white scrubs and a big plaid robe and look suspiciously hospitalesque -- but he doesn't seem to notice or care ( Read more... )

Hi Geoffrey. I'm Cayce Pollard.

And to be honest, none of us have any real idea what manner of world it is, but if you wait long enough, it might be Fair Verona for a few days.

Do you need any help? Let me rephrase that: what help do you need?

Oh, no, no, I'm fine... [His face is relatively calm again, but there's a somewhat manic note in his voice. He looks around again, hand still pressed to his head.]

Did you say a few days? [Well, that sort of sounds like his regular life, actually.] What is it you call it today?

We don't really have a name for it. Maybe we should come up with one.

Um. You ... there are some apartment buildings and ... you might want to check them out. Place to stay and all while you get your bearings v

Oh, yes. I saw my name on a mailbox, somewhere, but I didn't know... it didn't seem familiar.

I've, uh, been transported to many a world, you see, but not one so fantastic yet mundane. Bare, ruin'd choirs -- well, buildings -- in the distance, but my name's on the bloody mailbox! It didn't seem likely.

I've always been a bigger fan of the comedies. [said so dryly and calmly that you wonder if he's ever seen a comedy in his lifetime]

[Shakespeare talk! He can always talk Shakespeare.] A-ha! This could still be Verona, were we in one. But I will not play Petruchio today; and you, I think, are not a Katherina.

I most certainly am not. Besides, I'd prefer Illyria to Verona. Keep in mind, that if this is Verona then we're just as likely to have a Romeo than a Petruchio.

[Now he just sounds annoyed.] Yeah, I know. That's why I said Verona first. [Like, REALLY, BRO, you wanna challenge him on the Bard?]

Anyway, I was in Illyria the other day, this isn't Illyria.

Aye, I am.

[pause]

Where was the last place you remember before here? [yeah, she's seen those scrubs.]

[He looks like he wants to ask her something, and it might be something that starts with M and ends with acbeth, but instead he stops, nonplussed.]

The last place? Uh, my bedroom, I guess.

[Some of these words are familiar! But everything else is confusing as hell. :|]

What book? Not The Tempest?

No, no. That awful Aldous Huxley book. Brave New World.

I've never heard of such a thing. Surely it cannot be true that no one cared about that particular verse; my impression has been that The Tempest was a play that was well-loved by most. Perhaps not as popular as some of the comedies and more bloody tragedies, but not entirely unknown.

But I think I go on too much, forgive me. This is not Prospero's island, though I confess that I expect him to appear any day now.

No, no, look, you misunderstand. The play was always popular. I mean, not Romeo and Juliet popular, but decently, anyway. I just mean, you never heard people spouting "brave new world" left and right before that piece of shit dystopia came out.

But yeah, I'm getting that.

[When even the weird lady in the area starts looking at you funny it's a sign you're weird, Geoffrey.]

If you figure out where we are, let us know. Not too long ago we were in America. Tch, that didn't last long. Nice to meet you, Geoffrey. I'm Shura.

[He's used to being looked at funny! ...Because he's an actor, obviously.]

America? [He wrinkles his nose.] God. Was that worth it?

Sorry, can't tell you much on that. I spent most of my time wandering around with a drink in hand.

[Not really, she was exploring the entire area while pretending to be drunk. She's quite a good actor as well.]
