Title: Beautiful Snowflake
Pairing/Characters: AkaKame
Rating: R(only chapter 4)
Disclaimer: Unfortunately I don't own any of them
Summary: A first meeting between Jin and Kazuya who are watching the snowflakes fall and happen to meet each other.
Author's Notes: This is an alternate ending...well actually a continuation I didn't include in the original story. I wasn't going to post it, as I like the way I ended it, but I told a friend how the "happy" ending was and figured if I told her I should let everyone here know it too.

Jun ran a hand through his hair as he walked to the end of the pier. He sighed and took flight towards a cruise liner in the distance. His reap today was a little boy and he, in all honesty, did not want to have to do it. Contrary to popular belief, his distain had nothing to do with how young the boy was - age really never bothered Jun. But had everything to do with how the boy was going to die; he was going to drown. Watching people die in their sleep was fine, watching people die quickly - no matter how gruesome - he could deal with, but watching someone struggle in agony for their lives never sat well with Jun, especially since he couldn’t do anything to help. After all he was there to take the person’s life. No, it really didn’t matter to him that his current reap was a little boy at all. But, Jun thought and smiled ruefully, it would have mattered to him. Even after the few decades that had past Jun never forgot the young angel that was his last charge and the tragic ending that befell upon him.

Coming upon the cruise ship Jun delicately landed on the edge of the railing feeling the souls of the people on board for his reap. Gasping deeply his breath hitched as Jun felt the presence of a single person - a person that shouldn’t exist. Jun hopped off the railing and ran quickly as he followed the person’s spiritual trail. He found his way near the back of the boat and looked around frantically; his eyes landing on a pair of young boys - one haphazardly leaning against the ship railing and the other pouting behind him.

“Onii-chan, play with me!”

“Not now Reio.”

Jun flew in front of the older boy and looked at his face; at a pair of eyes he hadn’t seen in years. It not possible. He thought He shouldn’t even exist anymore.

The boy suddenly lurched forward passing through Jun - effectively shaking him out of his thoughts - and fell into the deep waters below.

“JIIIN!!!” Jun vaguely heard as he dropped into the water.

Just as he was about to pull the boy out Jun’s eyes widened as he remembered his reap; a young boy drowning. There was no way this could be happening, Jin couldn’t be his reap. It’s not fair. Jun began to laugh emptily. Not only did he have to watch someone drown, Jun had to watch Jin drown and reap him. He briefly noticed splashes in the distance as some people jumped into the water trying to save Jin, but they wouldn’t make it on time. Reaching out his hand, Jun hesitated as Jin thrashed about and looked his way; fear present in his young eyes. Pressing his lips into a thin line Jun determinedly reached out towards Jin again.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Jin gasped in a lungful of air as a sudden force thrust his small body towards the surface of the water. He sputtered as he began to sink once more when he suddenly felt a hand pull at his wrist. One of the workers from the ship pulled Jin to his chest and began swimming towards a lifesaver in the water and they were slowly pulled back up to the safety of the boat’s deck.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Waltzing into the entryway, Jun closed the door behind him and threw his coat off; it would only be a matter of time before someone came to get him. He sighed heavily and walked into the bathroom, splashing water on his face. Staring into the mirror Jun extended his dark wings and noticed the falling feathers - it was a miracle that he’d made it home - and jumped back in shock as a hand - specifically his reflection’s hand - reached out to catch a feather. Jun looked up at the mirror and saw his reflection smirk up at him.

“I’m sure you understand why I’m here Matsumoto Jun.” his reflection stated.

Jun nodded his head painfully and opened his mouth to ask a question but was immediately interrupted, “Yes, I know it’s rather unnerving that you’re talking to your reflection but it seems more in my benefit if I kept my identity secret from both you and them. Now then back to business, your punishment - as you can tell - has already started, but I’m afraid it isn’t going to be as simple as getting your wings clipped or simply being reborn as a human. It has been decided that you’ll be turned into a child and - you’re very lucky for this - get to keep your memories of the last couple decades of your angel years along with the new memories of your soon-to-be life.”

Again Jun nodded his head and his doppelganger grinned as he blew the fallen feathers into Jun’s face. A sudden pain enveloped his entire body and Jun looked up with difficulty at his double.

“One more thing, now it’s up to you if you want to follow the advice I’m about to give you or not, but I pretty sure if you do you won’t regret it.” His reflection began and Jun strained to hear the words over the pain, “In about four or five years after I send you to your new life you should try to enter the entertainment world…I’ll send you a reminder again then. Let’s see if you’ll remember my words then and catch the hint.”

-----------------------------------------------------------

“Oi! Kid, are you okay? Don’t worry the ambulance is almost here.” A deep voice said and Jun opened his eyes blearily.

The first thing he noticed as he opened his eyes was the blood stained street and a van that had swerved off the side of the road. Accident he noted I don’t remember having to reap anyone in an accident today. he thought and quickly sat up as he remembered that he wasn’t an angel anymore. Jun winced in pain at the sudden movement but suddenly smiled - it was true he did still have his memories. A couple of men suddenly appeared and eased him into an ambulance that had arrived. As the memories of himself running into the street came back to him Jun vaguely noticed the questions the men asked. He grinned at the men and simply began apologizing about running into the road.

-----------------------------------------------------------

“Onee-chan what’re you watching?” Jun asked his older sister one day, years after arriving to human life.

The older girl looked at him and grinned, “Come here Jun, I’ll show you.”

Jun walked over to his sister and sat by her side and looked to the t.v. - a pair of boys were singing and dancing on the screen. “Aren’t they cool. They’re Kinki Kids.” She said excitedly next to him.

He didn’t exactly get what she saw, but nodded his head and continued to watch along. Jun spent the next few weeks with his sister watching Kinki Kids perform and one day his sister offhandedly mentioned that his should send in an application to Johnny’s Entertainment since he liked watching Kinki Kids so much. That night he’d barely gotten any sleep as her words brought back a single memory he’d forgotten over the years. The memory of his last few seconds of being an angel, …You should try to enter the entertainment world… and when he woke up the next morning there was a small bundle of papers on his desk with a note attached onto it.

You really should give it a shot. I promise you’ll be pleasantly surprised in a couple years.
…..ah, but don’t send in the application until your graduation day ne.

Jun looked through the papers and sighed. Could he really trust the unknown being? Even though his life so far had been like the other took him, Jun was still wary about something so life changing as joining an entertainment agency. don’t send in the application until your graduation day Jun reread and decided he’d give it some more thought before filling out the forms.

-----------------------------------------------------------

“Aren’t you excited Matsumoto-kun? We’ll get to meet and work with one of the new Johnny’s Jr. today.” Said a boy next to him.

Jun looked up, “Really? Wasn’t it less than a month ago that that the auditions were held?” He asked, “Have you met any of the other new boys yet?”

“Yup, and I’ve only met two other boys so far. Nakamaru Yuichi and Kamenashi Kazuya I think that what their names were. They were late for their first dance lesson.”

Jun’s eyes widened, “Kamenashi Kazuya?”

The boy nodded next to him, “Yeah, do you know him or something.”

Clearing his throat Jun shook his head, “No, no I don’t.”

“Oi! Everyone gather up, we’re about to start.” Yelled the director and Jun moved towards the door.

As he entered the large room the director called him over. They were going to start with an outdoor scene with him and the new boy in it first. Jun headed outside and one of the managers walked up next to him with a boy trailing behind and Jun stopped breathing for a moment, “Ohayo Matsumoto-kun. I’d like you to meet Akanishi Jin. He’s just joined the Jimusho and is your current scene partner.”

Jin smiled crookedly at Jun, “Ohayo. Please take care of me sempai.”

Unable to trust his voice from cracking Jun gave a small smile back and nodded his head at Jin.
