Living for the weekend

Jul 20, 2009 23:54

I feel like I spent the whole weekend eating. I went to visit a friend I lived with at Uni Friday to Sunday, then went out for dinner last night with friends too. I was supposed to go out for dinner tonight (for my birthday, sorta yay) but just couldn't face it. I'm so ridiculously full. Had some lovely lamb chops and home-grown potatoes instead.

But it was a good weekend. Got there about 9 Friday night, watched Bewitched on Film4 (which I quite liked. Nicole Kidman has grown on me since Australia) then slept for a long time. Another friend came down and we all went down to town for lunch, and ended with us in a park eating the biggest, nicest ice-creams ever. Went back to the house, then out again for dinner and some drinks. None of us were really up for clubbing (like the good old days).

Then on Sunday we had a quick trip to the supermarket before I left to pick up my sis from the train station on the way back.

Had just enough time to pop in and see the grandparents before getting changed and going out for dinner and a pub quiz.

It doesn't help that I drank far more than is healthy on Thursday night on the spontaneous work night out (which only had me and 1 other from work). I don't usually drink so having drunk for the last 5 nights, I'm more than ready for a break. In fact, I already have plans to join the gym tomorrow. It might cost an arm and a leg, but I really really do have to do some sort of exercise and going with a friend will be good for both of us. Plus I have a cinema card so can always go see a film afterwards.

I got my first assignment mark/feedback today. Got an A, and they said I have produced a very good standard of work. I feel quite guilty about not doing any work on it over the weekend, or much last week. I will try and make up for it this week and start my next assignment before next weekend when we're going to Alton Towers.

life is hard, a is for apple, trippin' the light fantastic
