FPR 2008

FPR 2008 was an awesome experience this year!  We had wonderful panels and workshops and presentations, including some old favorites like Sterling's Meyers-Briggs Type Indicators and Jim of the Polymagi's Archetypes of the Hero's Journey.  We also had some new favorites, like Polyamory And Disabilities and  the Living OUT Loud discussion.

And, of course, our Keynote Speaker, Anita Wagner, was just wonderful.  She covered such topics as polyamory in the media and the greater coverage we're seeing in society.

Our first day was a nice way to ease into things with one track of programming at a time.  Then we opened things up with a hilarious icebreaker game and an ice cream social that night.  On Saturday, we jumped right into 3 tracks of programming all day long.  Several of our presenters have uploaded their materials to the FPR Attendees Yahoo Group so that attendees of FPR 2008 can reference them, and tacit uploaded his presentation on his own website at http://www.xeromag.com/making_relationships_suck.pdf.

We also had power for the entire area go out for roughly 2 hours one night.  All the FPR attendees took advantage of the power outage to socialize outside and really began building some of those friendships that start at FPR and extends way beyond.  It was so enjoyable, there have been requests to schedule a "power outage" every year (only leave the power on for the toilets!).

Afterwards, as the attendees left FPR, many of us stopped for one last shared meal at the BBQ stand on the corner, to extend our time together and push back the end of FPR for just a little longer.

Everyone seemed to have a really good time and we look forward to seeing you all next year!
