So most of us have been around fp for years by now, and maybe because many of us have moved on with our lives and with the parting of a huge wave of authors (some to pursue publication, others to avoid plagiarism, maybe both) it almost feels like fp is dwindling down.  I don't think fp has changed that much since it began, but still,  before you started posting a story, what's something you wish somebody had told you about?  Or what's a generic sort of guideline for a newb to follow in order to make the most of their fp experience?

Oh, and also, don't expect a million of reviews straight off the bat- perhaps instead of waiting around, you need to give some in order to get some (review other stories, become an active member), etc.
