Hey there kids. I am thinking of going to FPC in the fall as a freshmen. I've been accepted and given a hefty amount of money and it's on my top two and I am working on finalizing my decisions soon but I would like to hear about it from you guys. How is the Biology program? Anything to do in town? Any insight is appreciated. :)

if you're used to an academically-demanding school, look elsewhere. fpc is honestly quite lacking in terms of academics. even their "honors" classes leave something to be desired. to some, this isn't much of an issue...but others may find it highly frustrating and discouraging...
community service is good (i have been involved in both s.k.i.p. and kra) but no one really does it past freshman year and that's a shame. community service is a good thing to stay involved with.
as for the bio program? well, i'm a senior psych major taking a sophomore level bio course called animal behavior as an elective...and it's not much more engaging than honors ap bio courses i took in high school, so i'm not sure what that says...but it's the only course i've taken and people swear he's the best bio prof...so if he's the best, i want to see the worst. ::shrugs::
also, beware of faculty who like to tell you (meaning whole classes) that you're going nowhere in life because you chose to attend this college (anyone who reads this and understands, you know EXACTLY who i'm talking about). whether it's true or not, the fact that such professors are still employed here says something about well, something.
good luck. montana sounds like it might be more what you're looking for since they have an exact major that you're interested in...but who knows? :)
