---with Dreamwidth or InsaneJournal accounts or the like. How do you cross-post? Is there a way to make an entry in LJ or the other journal and just pass it on to the other account, or do I just have to copy and paste anything I write?

Dreamwidth can both import existing posts from Livejournal, and cross-post new posts (and edits to those posts) to Livejournal. It's what I do. And the little text about DW comments at the bottom of my LJ posts is inserted automatically. (Though imported posts don't seem to get linked, just copied.) I learned from some FAQ about linking accounts. You do have to trust DW with your LJ password.

As my password is the same on all three journals, that would not be too tough.

Everything mindstalk said is correct, although I'd like to add a couple of points. Not only does DW import LJ entries, it also imports the comments as well, which is something I find particularly appealing ( ... )

As the others have said, there is a crosspost option when you post to DW. It's dead easy -- once you've told DW which journal you want to crosspost to, you just tick a ticky box on your new entries -- and in my experience it's been rock-solid reliable. DW is now my primary blogging site; I crosspost from there to here and only visit LJ to keep up with those of my friends who haven't made the move. My paid account here is doomed to non-renewal since LJ broke the only reason I still had for keeping it.
