Correct me if I am wrong here but according to the linked article and every other relevant article that I can locate in a quick search, this new law applies not to "churches" but to the established Church of Denmark which has been an "arm of the state" since the C16th. That LifeSiteNews.com headline is innacurate to the point of dishonesty. From the C16th to the present day this sort of thing is the inevitable result of being "by law established". You take the bastards gold and preferential protection, you dance to their tune. And I really cannot see how such measures could be introduced elsewhere "in ways that are invisible to the public". And do the Daily Hate or Fox have any relevant prior form on this or related issues? Please do not misunderstand me, our worst fears may yet come to pass; but I sincerely doubt that they have been brought any closer to reality by this particular incident.
Oh and by the way, that line of yours:
"...the majority that has been subjected to propaganda in a hundred forms till it cannot tell reality from an episode of Will And Grace."
Maybe I jumped the gun. We shall see. Danish is a tough language to translate (I know something about it) and maybe something got lost in translation. Certainly the allusion to "Bishops" suggests that evangelical congregational churches were not taken into consideration.
Even so: I am certain and confident that something like this is coming. I was shocked that it should start in Denmark - a relatively tolerant place and a country I like - and would love to be proved wrong. My guess is that we shall first see it in Canada, where there are a lot of Oedypal issues to do with the Catholic Church. And look at the dozens of ways in which "gay marriage" is being imposed. People who refuse to receive or serve or treat such couples as married are in danger of fines or jail time in many places, and they are subjected to public obloquy amounting to persecution and sometimes placing their property and persons in danger. There have already been attempts to burn churches down. When will the first succeed? And what will the authorities do about it?
Unless they did a stealth update of the article, even lifesitenews is explicit right in the first sentence:
"The nation of Denmark has voted to force churches in the established Evangelical Lutheran Church to perform same-sex “marriage” ceremonies inside their sanctuaries"
Bolding mine. As you say, here the particular church is *already* an arm of the state, and naturally is required to comply with state policy. Take Constantine's favor, obey Constantine's rules.
Nonetheless, if it doesn't happen in Denmark, it will happen elsewhere, and soon. Probably in Canada, although David Cameron's Britain is another prime candidate.
