What you see in LJ is very unlikely to be on Facebook (I am not on Twitter). And on the one occasion when a Facebook friend wanted to make use of an anecdote I passed on, I asked him to get in touch

It occurs to me that I have twice been guilty of spreading your writings on FB.... to me, these were essays worthy of a larger audience, but of course I should have asked if youminded?

The essays are fine, and I am flattered. But anecdotes about other people, I should be careful about.
