A place in Paradise

Aug 30, 2010 21:31

There has to be a place in God's heaven - I am almost tempted to say, in Valhalla - in which Americans of rock-bottom social origins, limited education, modest and unpretentious personal character, unleash for ever, before the throne of God, the measureless, unexpected, unforeseeable energies revaled in their mortal lives. There the scrawny, underfed little Jewish tailor's son, Jack Kirby, and the short, stout, black servant's daughter, Mahalia Jackson, stand in the glory of God Himself, and retorn to Him for ever the miraculous glory and power that He has allowed them to reveal. Amen!
