So, it seems that, in spite of all the effort taken to keep unpleasant realities and inconvenient truths out, the Copenhagen congress has comprehensively failed. And indeed, it was bound to fail. I am with you. I am passionately in favour of defending the environment and I am proud that one of the Fundamental Principles of my country's Constitution is that the Republic defends and preserves the natural and artistic heritage of the country. But the whole thing was so obviously a fraud that I positively burst out laughing when British journalist John Snow, one of the most devoted of those ranked newsmen, appeared with a hangdog expression to explain that the meeting was unlikely to achieve any resolution because of Obama's speech.

Same here - and I appreciated the irony. For all his faults, Obama, being an American, takes a commitment to truth seriously.
