Some people mistakenly think that "nice" people are pushovers. Nice people have manners, yes. Nice people think of other's, yes. Nice people are big picture people who realize that by being nice, they make the world a better place.
But being nice, doesn't mean being a doormat. Standing up for your rights often feels wrong if you've been socialized to avoid conflict. Conflict is inevitable and has to be addressed, otherwise, you allow the greatest crime of all to happen, loss of your "niceness". It's the world we make it.
