layout part deux

Well, uh, the last layout seemed to just be a transition to this better one featuring Gael Garcia Bernal. At least for now it does anyway.

Credits have been put on my userinfo page.

Bernal reminds me of a funny story. I was asking Javier if he was popular in Spain (because I thought he was Spanish - but he's Mexican as Wiki tells me). I said his name over. And over. And over again. And finally Javi knows who I'm on about and repeats the name the Spanish way. Haha it sounded a lot different than said in an Australian accent.

Oh while still on about old stories, I was skimming through my old LJ posts today and yesterday (to tag them - and remove most/all the photos to clear out my photobucket account) and I forgot to mention The Stolen T-Shirt story that happen in Athens. For some reason I left my BTTF t-shirt and little towel in the communal bathroom at the hostel and I really like that shirt, you know. So I asked reception the next day if they've seen it but they said no but I could ask again in a few days to see if anyone laundered it or whatnot. So on the day I left I went down to reception to check-out and the chick behind the counter was wearing a BTTF shirt. Like mine. Surely mine as it was huge on her. So embarrassed as I felt, I asked "Um, did you find that shirt in the bathroom...?" and she's like "Someone gave it to me..." and then it dawned on her and she yells at some guy "Oh my God! Gus gave me someone else's shirt!!!" and the guy replies "Hahaha!!! That's gotta be the best thing he's done!!". They were a bunch of Aussies. So yes, she gave it back to me, not before asking if she could buy it off me first lol and she said the guy probably pawned off my towel too which I didn't find.

Anyway, yesterday I came across the most stupid people ever. I was on the station platform waiting for my train which was one minute away. On the platform across from mine; there was a train at a standstill. A guy jumps in between the carriages of the stopped train and onto the rails and runs across and jumps onto my platform. His mates are yelling "Hey! Train!". The guy manages to pull himself up and goes: "There's still one minute!". So his three mates follow suite. THE TRAIN WAS COMING IN ONE MINUTE! Honestly! I must say I stepped back a bit; I didn't fancy having blood on me that day. Fortunately for them, they all make it seconds before the train comes. What dickheads.

I've just started my week break from uni. So next week my plans are to:
Go for my driving lesson, finish my Research Essay, translate my French book, read On The Road + Notes, read Picador Book of Journeys + Notes, skim Read The Lost Continent + Notes, skim Read Songlines + Notes.
So yeah, lots of reading. I hope it's nice weather, I could read outside or something. Or stay in bed reading. Win win really.

Am going to Michelle's 21st tomorrow. I haven't seen her for like a year and am going because Sophie was invited lol

I got my Film Review back for International Studies. And Oh My God. I was hoping for a Pass and I somehow managed a Distinction. I was so happy. I think it's the D I got for this subject ever. She liked my writing style and my 'contextualising'. Whatever. Also did better than expected in my French mid-sem - considering the one night cramming I did the night before, a 77/100 is nothing to be sniffed at.

Mum's not nagging me about working so much anymore. I think she knows that I am trying. Then we had a little argument about going on holiday and Christmas casual positions. I told her that I really really want to go on holiday with them and she wants me to go too. So she's just going to have to put up with the fact that chances of being hired at this time when you're not available for Christmas/New Years are very slim.

But now I'm quite excited about going on holiday! We're most likely going on a tour of Vietnam and Cambodia. Haven't been on a tour for ages. I remember not liking it so much haha but I'm optimistic it'll be fun this time. I'm going to try and pack next to nothing. At least I'll get to stay in hotels this time around :)
