I'm so booored right now...
Today I went shopping with the parents, we went to Harvey Norman, Eastland and Knox. And I must note this day, we went looking for a laptop! Haha I wonder when I'll actually get one... am nagging dad for at LEAST before March. The Sony Vaio's are gorgeous, HPs are okay looking too and Compaq... hmm I'm so shallow. Dad is intent on Dell or Toshiba.
I got a call from Caroline this morning! Ooooh I'm SO jealous. She went to DISNEYLAND yesterday! >.< and they have MTV Asia on in their hotel and she saw Will's Friday's Child video and *sigh* she's just so lucky. And it's so sad, but Quang said that calendars were sold out >.< but he said he found Westlife's Face To Face with promo scarf!! So I'll probably be getting that :) I told them to buy me any CD of Ronan/Will/Westlife with promo stuff attached haha. But no fear, Devoted to the rescue, managed to buy a Will calendar off someone, not any cheaper but meh.
Anyway, today I bought 2 more eyeliners (ooo green!), body spray (I can smell like berries!), nail polish (meant to be smelly... hot pink!), a work shirt, Lyn's pressie, Amanda's pressie, mints. Hmph mum made me pay for everything today >.<
lol and I almost forgot HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Hahaha NYE was great... got a great view of fireworks (as good as we could get haha), thought the night/day ended a bit early but oh well, had a good time nonetheless. AND good thing it ended when it did: I went home and slept... my eyes opened at EIGHT and so I slept more till 9.30am when I got a call from Sarah from Safeway asking me to work hahaha... so yeah, I thought... well, I'm up already, might as well go. So yeah, worked 10am. Quite relaxing, not many people. Hhaa some customers thought I lost the raffle and had to work NY. I spoke to this old guy, I said "How are you?" and he says "You really wanna know?" and I said "Enlighten me" and he said "Fucked". Hahahhaaaa and he was like 60, party animal he is.
And I have now mastered the art of changing the receipt roll :)
Last night I dled the Brokeback Mountain book by Annie Proulx. I'm quite excited about the movie as the reviews are really good, according to
RottenTomatoes, which is a fantastic reviews site. And OMG, the book... I must say I'm a bit disappointed. It's like a real epic fantastic story and all and OH SO SAD! BUT OH SO SHORT. Judging by the epic movie trailer I thought it would have been a massive heavy reader like 'Gone with the Wind' or something... but it's like 21 A4 pages... I read it under an hour.
I think it skims a lot... like it went: Ennis and Jack met. We're alone quite a bit then HEY! they jump each other.
Anyway I enjoyed the trailer more than the book. But I'm going to re-read it tonight, so my opinion might change lol some of the lines are really, really sweet and gushy even though it's spoken in a rough cowboy way lol like the end bit... *cries* and the frustration Ennis and Jack have with each other.
I also got the soundtrack... it's so depressing that it's good. Quite honky-tonk lol. And titles like: He Was A Friend Of Mine, A Love That Will Never Grow Old, No One's Gonna Love You Like Me, I Don't Want To Say Goodbye (my fave), I Will Never Let You Go, An Angel Went Up In Flames... what sad, sad songs but I love the scores... they're really good, should of been more of those.
Umm and I finished Nip 'N Tuck, the ending goes a bit spastic and the main girl is just stupid sometimes. And so I'm out of stuff to read... so I'm going to the library tomorrow lol... hopefully there are more James Herbert books. And I want to get Memoirs of a Geisha to read but I doubt it'd be there... still not motivated to read Da Vinci or HP *whistles* but I'm not really in the mood for horror or comedy anymore... maybe I'll read The Great Gatsby again or something Jane Austen... hmm I'm in a sappy mood.
OK I'm going to go see if Annie can change my mind second time around. Tata!
