Je ne comprends pas, je suis... australienne!

It's the long weekend! YAY!

I've decided (for, like, a week now) to spend the next two weekends and then some seeing lots and lots of stuff at the The Alliance Française French Film Festival. I do have a moderation issue. Seriously. But I'm just going to splurge on this because I've never been before and I just love French cinema! There are 35 films on offer and I read through the plots and narrowed it down to 16 and then watched the trailers and ended up with 10 and then got an opinion from a French friend of mine and have now ended up with 8!

So my viewing plans are:
Actresses [Actrices] - pretty much to see Louis Garrell in a different role and see if I still like him haha
Baby Love [Comme les Autres] - My French friend's opinion was "I think you would like this" - heehee and yes, this was my definite see - I have the ticket already!
My Friends, My Loves [Mes amis, mes amours] - Apparently it feels like something Richard Curtis has written :)
Cash - Friend's recommendation and I like Jean Reno anyway
Daddy Cool [15 ans et demi] - Daniel Auteuil!
Me Two [La personne aux deux personnes] - Daniel Auteuil!
Love Me No More [Deux jours à tuer] - Friend's recommendation
A Pain In The Ass [L’emmerdeur] - Directed by Francis Veber who also did Tais Toi! and La Placard
Astérix at the Olympic Games [Astérix aux jeux olympiques] - The trailer had me in hysterics! I have to...

Haha sometimes I wonder about the title translations! So yes, I'm seeing two tomorrow and then the rest over Sunday/Monday/Saturday/Sunday/Thursday! I love so many French things (I don't even think they are mean!) yet I am capable of learning 8 years of the language and still cannot write/read well let alone hold a conversation or follow a movie/song.

I found out last night that the Melbourne Queer Film Festival is running pretty much right after the FFF. I flipped through their film guide and nothing really jumped out at me as a must-see... I've already seen Save Me and Baby Love is also screening at the MQFF! So yeah... I might be able to go to a couple of those (maybe the short films)... but maybe I'll give it a miss this year... I dunno... have never been to this either!

And lastly,
Coeur de Pirate = ♥ ♥ ♥
