Merry Holidays

Besides being really pissed off at working overtime yesterday (when I hadn't for the last week) - it has been a great start to the week! Finished work today until the 12th. Totally spending that time job hunting hmm... um... yeah.

Anyway. This is *kind of* embarrassing to admit, although I am very excited about it.
I've started working on my New Years resolutions, one of which was to learn a new skill and my little 13 year old cousin has just started playing guitar and I thought - okay, I've always wanted to learn guitar too - so, a small fortune later (and some friendly donations) I have a guitar hahhaha.

I know nothing about instruments, really. I can't read music. Or couldn't tell the difference between a bass and normal guitar until, like, last year. But I have done research! I have a steel-string acoustic. It sounds lovely - don't know if it's a good brand but I know it's a lower end beginner's guitar. And I know other random things now how like Fender's a great electric ones but not so good acoustic and Maton's are awesome (for many $$$).

I got it yesterday. I "played" around with it for about 3 hours - I was so pleased I could at least tune it! - and MAN, I have steel-string burn on my fingers! I can totally feel callouses forming already... oh well lol and I've decided to keep my nails short short so I can practice properly so it helps that I'm used to them being short now after a few months working.
Right now, I'm finding it impossible to play at the right speed. I can play notes okay (but can't remember them yet) but chords are really very hard - my fingers aren't long or strong enough :S

So the reasons why I haven't been blogging about thinking about learning guitar is that
A) it's embarrassing (I'm having my little muso cousins over for Christmas and they are so going to show me up! Laura has been playing violin for ages and Caroline can play keyboards, clarinet and apparently ukulele... and I can't read music!),
B) I had to work out what to tell my parents so they wouldn't crack the shits when I came home with a guitar - I ended up saying it was a combined gift from friends (who they will hopefully never see lol) - to them, as long as I didn't spend money on it, it's fine,
C) It's embarrassing

Random Twispam
121 Things to Annoy Edward Cullen - there are way more floating around on forums, but I've only read these - SO funny!

Okay, so, THE HAIR - so, so easy to get used to ♥
