There was a concert here.

In Spirit: fatigued

Reading: The Fey, by Kristine Kathryn Rusch.

I know no one cares anymore really, but I drove down to LA last month to see Nobuo Uematsu and the gang in concert. Here's what I wrote down that night:

Holy Shit. No shit, man. Holy shit. Some awesome live performances of newer ff songs, then ff6's intro and the ff theme bringing ( Read more... )

You got to drive at over 100? I'm jealous; the speed limit here is low enough and I've seen too many speed traps on my route to work. What make is your lovely car?

2000 Mitsu Eclipse GT. I found a photo-post halfwritten from a few months ago, maybe I'll finish and post it.

That's the nice thing about california, lots of wide open freeways with no cities for ages. I mean, I've only seen my mom get pulled over once on the highway and she drives like mario andretti too. City streets are another matter, of course, and all the lights don't make the speeding worth it anyway.

The specs look quite good on it - 205 hp, and their quoted highway mileage is nice. Plus, the car does look good, much better than the previous year. The (seemingly) aircraft styled gas cap seems a bit out of place, yet fits at the same time.

Nice roads. A shame I can't get away with it here. Some people get offended when you pass them with too much of a speed delta, though, so I guess it's not perfect.

It trades some power and customizability for looks and comfort - racing this thing is a joke compared to a 90's GSX, especially on curves, and being a 4-speed. But it's a great car overall, especially with the satellite radio. I never knew it existed (except seeing yet another 'ricer car') before I bought it, but now I see a lot of them around town, new and old bodies.

I suppose I should wash it sometime, though.

Oh, and I think it's the human condition that anyone faster than you is a maniac and anyone slower is impeding traffic. Even I have uncharitable thoughts toward drivers who pass me when I'm moving slow. =D

It's passing on the right at high speed that really bothers most people. ;)

I think it's pretty natural to notice twins of your car on the road... or, I've done it also, so I'm guessing it is.

The specs on the GSX don't look too different from the GT, but I'm not much of a car buff. You've owned/driven the other as well?

It's a little smaller, a little lighter, tighter handling, stiffer suspension, and a transmission geared way more toward high accelleration than steady high speed/mileage.

It got its demonic soul ripped out and a little civilization beat into it, pretty much. xD
