Some Rainbow Honey Polish swatches

Oct 29, 2012 03:01

Nearly forgot about them till Estrella and I were discussing about the polishes, so here they are!

I actually cannot remember if I’ve posted about them before, but they deserve a second mention If I already haven’t. Rainbow Honey gave me a pleasant surprise when I got mine in very professional packaging (with a box!) and also nice bottles - though the mini ones may give you some headache because the brushes are a tad too short.

I got 3 polishes, from 2 different collections.
Rainbow Honey The Worst Possible Thing

This polish is from the Equestria collection.

This one’s a stunner - I initially purchased a mini bottle, but later on got a full sized one as it was too good to miss.
You have to find the right underwear for this one - I think the holographic base coat I’ve used underneath it wasn’t good enough for TWPT - should have used a glitter one instead. Alternatively, you can also do 3-4 slow coats of this - remember to wait for it to dry well before applying a 2nd coat or risk pulling it - and it will look even prettier!

Rainbow Honey Mare of the Moon

This one, is my favorite polish. It’s also from the Equestria collection, but it was the “secret” polish.

I remember using a blue underneath this because it was too precious to me, but I, for the life of me, cannot remember what I used. I would say it’s easy to choose a polish as an underwear for this cos it’s quite pigmented anyway - in fact you can use it without a base color, if you don’t mind. There are no words to describe the awesomeness of this. Sorry about the dragging in the pic - I got a little excited.

Rainbow Honey Sakura Matsuri Namesake

From the Sakura Matsuri Collection, this was the only polish I had my eyes on as it was just too pretty!

This one… I didn’t use any here, but you really also have to choose the right underwear for it. I know i’m repeating myself, but this is good advice, alright! Haha. I would think that China Glaze’s Hello Gorgeous! would be fitting. But beware - this is glitter packed and it would be very hard to remove!

The sakura bits are a little hard to fish out, and they don’t lay completely flat for me because I have very curved nails, but they’re really pretty to look at and puts a smile on my face. I. need. to. see. the. sakura. blooming. at. least. once. in. my. life!!! Urgh. It’s on my checklist of things to do before I kick the bucket and I cannot believe that I’ve caught the aurora, but not the sakuras!

All my polishes are in full sizes and they were purchased from Rainbowhoney.com on a spree with some other nail polish crazy friends (thank you girls!), at $10 USD per bottle (not inclusive of shipping yet).

But by the time I managed to post this up, meimeisignatures.com has them too and she’s offering them at 15% off for the first two bottles, for a limited time only. The USP is $15 SGD for a bottle, and there’s an extra 5% charge for people using Paypal to pay.

I love how RH names their collections and the latest one had me almost buying it just for the name - the Yokai collection has one called Kitsune, and I LOVE kitsunes. Kitsune means fox in Japanese, in case you’re wondering! It will be available on Meimei’s come November, which is in a few days!
