After all the reviews from various bloggers, how could I not visit this place? Brunch you know! *yum*
So, I’ve visited Food For Thought twice in a row by now and I’ve pretty much tried all the food I wanted to taste already (everything else doesn’t interest me).
The place is white, clean, and very bright (well i visited in the day.)
Brunch is served all day, from morning - 5.30pm. Lunch is served after 12.
First up was Pancakes with whipped cream.
I chose my pancakes to be plain. It was nice, but a wee bit too big and filling for me (I am usually only able to take in like, a happy meal hotcakes before I surrender. That’s 2/3 of a normal hotcakes meal btw.)
And oh it came with cute round hashbrowns.
Next up was Mushroom Risotto.
VERY. VERY. NICE. till you get sick of it halfway through….. I just couldn’t finish the risotto. It was too “gelat” for me. For cream lovers they will love this to bits, but not me. I had to wash it down with loads of orange juice.
And then came Yang’s Garlic Prawn with Coriander Linguine.
Well the first time i was there with his, the linguine came a little…. under-cooked. So during the second visit, I requested for it to be a little more over cooked. Honestly, I expected better… think it would have been much nicer with a little spice and more taste.
Keni and Fel dropped by much later and had the breakfast set or something. I forgot!
Looks pretty nice eh. Hmmmmm.
I’ve also tried both Iced Dark, and Milk chocolate. I’d prefer the Dark. Surprisingly. It’s not bitter. And its very very very nice. The Milk chocolate is lighter in taste (duh) but both are not cloying. Surprisingly.
Price was quite alright to me, it’s the standard of around 40-50odd for 2 persons.
Didn’t try their pastries/desserts though, but they looked pretty huge in portion and savoury. Unfortunately I don’t really dig any of the flavors they had there. Yes i’m picky. : p
One commendable thing though, was that their staff are all very, very very attentive and nice people. The crowd wasn’t as bad as I imagined it to be and seats were comfortable… Just don’t sit next to the windows on a hot hot day. We nearly melted.
And oh, Walter was on display near by too :3
