Customer: "A really ugly face, but a great body to ride."
- Actual quote overheard while at work
Hey look, a public entry for 2007! Although I'll admit, my recent entries, that you can't see, are much juicer reading material. Quite tauting, I know. But let's talk about a few noteworthy tidbits here, shall we?
So today I had a dry run for the rest of my life. I'm so excited for Emerson; a small amount terrified, but a big amount excited. My mom and I spent the first half of the day taking the train and the subway and exploring the campus and walking to MGH and missing our train and having a DELICIOUS lunch and it was so fun and I got really excited. I can be a city girl. I'm gonna be a city girl. On the train today, the conductor reminded me so much of Tom Hanks in the Polar Express, especially how he was punching the tickets like crazy and I half expected him to punch-spell "Believe" or something in mine, but sadly, he didnt. Probably because he caught me laughing every time he punched a ticket.
I got my grades, and I'm really really pleased with how I did. Best GPA ever, and considering the amount of stress I was under all semester long, culminating ickily during finals week, I'm amazed at what I pulled off. Gigi's comments on my autobio were truly inspirational and I really took her words to heart. Five years, it's my goal. :)
I'm glad that Jen and I are finally back to where we were. After nearly two weeks of being confined to the stock room, and Jen's recent suspicions, I'm so relieved that we're back to being buddy buddy. She gave me money to go to Starbucks so I could get her a coffee and she said she wanted to buy me one, too, so with her instructions I got two very expensive beverages that were: A. chocolatey, B. caffeiney, and C. fattening. They were delicious and then Jen and I went out so she could smoke and we enjoyed our drinks and chatted and it was lovely and I missed my Jen time. I even verified the drawers!!! I haven't done that since summer. I spent 7 hours doing bath rugs tonight and they're only about half done which is why I'm coming in tomorrow to hopefully get the rest taken care of. Problem is, we've run out of space if I am to organize them properly. Karl offered to give me a ride in a bin today which I thought was funny. My dinner consisted of Cheezits from the vending machine. We have plenty of the calciumy pulpy orange juice in the fridge and I wanted to tell Eric so we could have a laugh but he's injured and out of work so I can't. While working upstairs making a ruggy mess, I got really hot all of a sudden so I took off my sweatshirt and was just wearing a tank top. Jen, of course, came upstairs at that moment and was like "what, are you getting naked now?" I came home from work today very tired but in a very, very good mood. The days just fly.
Wednesday night, I was so tired after working 7-5:30 that the day was pretty much over for me after I got home. When my mom came home from work and came to say hi around 8:30, she said I looked like a zombie. I slept from about 8:15 - 7:00, and by gosh by golly, I needed it.
Ski Trip 2007 is a bust, and I can't say I'm all that disappointed. I just wish things were like they used to. I also can't believe how I've only been gone from IC for a few weeks but it feels like it's already been years. It's sad, but I suppose it's good, because I know I've made the right decision and can look forward to the next phase of life. Hopefully my flossing will pay off tomorrow. Goodnight.
