wake me up when september ends...
have no fear, i'm still around...just have been absent from the livejournal scene as of late...blame MySpace...i have become an addict, no lie. i disabled my xanga site, short lived as it was and joined MySpace two weeks ago. i left a link to it in my last post, so feel free to visit if you haven't already. i do intend on keeping this journal somewhat updated, a place for me to vent more than anything else i suppose...anyhoo that's the that on where to find me on the web...i know, i know, absurd that i float through cyberspace at all, but eh, it passes the time.....moving on..
the world certainly has been shifting the past few weeks, my world that is...the biggest shift has been my decision to quit my full-time job...(insert shock and/or disapproval here...x.) after two years i finally realized that maybe dishwashing isn't my life's ultimate dream...nonetheless career waitressing isn't exactly a step in the optimal direction, but it's a step...i'm not enrolled in any classes this semester (except for a writing workshop which is non-credit), but i am seriously considering/investigating going back to school full-time this spring. wow. i know...i told you the world was shifting...i'm still just trying to hold on.
so the summer is nearing its conclusion and fall is fast approaching...change is good but i will miss these sunny days dearly. i had a fabulous summertime, so fabulous in fact that it warrants it's very own Top Ten List...so here goes...
Rachael's Top Ten Awesome Summer 2005 Moments...(drumroll, si vous plait!)
10. Kristen moves to Etown. - finally the soulmates have been reunited! bring on those BMW marathons! pepperjack cheese! dr. mario tournaments! and ice cream feasts! woo hoo!
9. The Gasperetti/Basehore Family Day...how quaint?! (fyi...Phyllis kicked my ass in mini-golf!)
8. The Drive-In!!! - after four long years of whining i get to the Drive-In...and two weekends in a row no less!!
7. Father's Day/Jack's Bday at Willie Nelson & Bob Dylan...i got to take my Dad to his first concert ever, and it was a sweet time...
6. The 2nd Annual LUAU!!! - holy smokes, i throw some alright parties...aloha!
5. Hillbilly Woodstock! - there's a certain beauty in witnessing how crazy your family truly is and finally accepting it...love those gappers!
4. *those nights* - there were some nights that only ended as the sun was rising...some crazy ones, definitely, (the Honker Down Night?!?!)...but my favorite one, my favorite one involved a boy, a car, some Uncle Tupleo, and a sky full of stars...for whatever it was worth, i liked it...
3. Live 8 in Philly...incredible cause, incredible compassion, incredible concert.
2. Extreme Concert Season!!! hellooo, i have never been to so many shows, let alone so many freakin' awesome ones...from Dave Matthews Band (picnic included) to Modest Mouse to Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers to Tori Amos to Elton John...whoa. whoa, i was rocked.
and...1. BONNAROOOOOOOOOOO! the whole friggin' thang rocked my proverbial socks...insane, hardly any other words to describe it...changed my life, swear to Buddha. Can't wait 'till next summer...
...so there it is, my fantastic summer in a nutshell...good times.
alrighty then...now that i'm uber nostalgic, i'm gonna go...ciao.
