Help for a Cam Member in need
Blood donors needed for rare blood type cross match.
Camarilla Member Micheal Theil is in the cardiac intensive care wing at
UMC Tucson, AZ.
He is in need of a transfusion. Micheal has a rare anti-body that is
making it difficult to find a matching donor as Micheal has no full
siblings, and he could die without this transfusion.
For anyone that would like to try and help....
I spoke with the Blood Bank at UMC and here is what we need to do:
ANYONE WITH POSTIVE RH FACTOR CAN ASSIST IN THE CROSSMATCH. WE WILL
HAVE BETTER LUCK WITH 0+ AND A+ DONORS. NEGATIVE RH FACTOR WILL NOT BE
ABLE TO MATCH, BUT YOUR MORALE SUPPORT IS STILL NEEDED.
Go down to your local United Blood Services
(http://www.unitedbloodservices.org) blood center and advise them that
you are:
"a replentishment Donor for patient Micheal Theil at UMC Tucson."
Tell them to call the UMC Blood Bank at 520-694-6292 to get the details
on the specfic anti-body that we are trying to match.
You will need to fill out a card when you arrive designating that you
are a replentishment donor for Micheal Thiel.
There is usually a 72 hour delay from point of donation to availability,
but this is the best shot that Micheal has right now.
