fishing!!!

Ok, I know i don't update much, and i apologize. I can't be bothered typing stuff up everyday when I'm on here. None of it is that interesting, and most of it i forget!

HOWEVER, i am making this post to tell you this:

If you ever get the chance to go fishing/camping at MacEachern Lake up on top of Weaver's mountain - DO IT.

It is the most amazing spot I have been to in a very long time. It easily compares to Newfoundland, and trust me, that's saying something. Myself, Ashley, Scott (b/f), Crystal, Jimmy (b/f), Josh (9), and Joey (7) went up there yesterday to go fishing. It was a beautiful sunny, warm day. We left my house around noon, had to run around and get last minute things. Went out to Merigomish to get Scott's boat (making it two, because we had Jim's brother's boat), then headed out to the mountain. It takes about 20 minutes on the highway, then you turn off towards Kenzieville, and you travel 40 minutes up a dirt road. (Warning: vans with large loads will scrape against the rocks in the road quite badly and it would be better off if you could just take trucks only.) Then you get to this beautiful little spot with a big majestic lake.
We got everything ready, had a quick lunch and headed out onto the lake for some good ol' fashioned fishing. Crystal, Jimmy, Josh and Joey went in Jimmy's boat (15ft) and Scott, Ashley, and I went in Scott's (8ft). We were out for about 2 hours or so. We caught about 5 fish, and them a hell of a lot more. We came in for a barbeque supper. Hot dogs, pop, and chocolate bars - yum. I played with the boys for a while. We finished up and went back on the lake. By now the sun was behind clouds and it was starting to set. The wind was cooler than in the afternoon, and we didn't wear our sweaters. Our boat didn't catch anymore fish, but Crys and them caught a lot more. Ashley and I started to get cold so Scott took us back to shore. We loaded his boat on the van, got things packed up and waited for Jimmy to bring their boat in. The kids were having a blast. The black flies were HORRIBLE, worse than horrible, and it was starting to rain. (Somehow I only managed to get two bugbites, all thanks to my smart clothes planning!) Jimmy finally came in, and we loaded up the rest of the stuff, and headed back down the road. We left the lake at 9pm. It was about 10:10pm when we got back in town. Then we had to drop off Jimmy's boat at his brother's house, run to Tim Hortons for coffee, drop Crys, Jim, and Joe off in Stellarton, pick up Dad's screwdriver from Ashley's then finally drop me off here with all my gear. I walked in the door at about 11:15. Not a bad day!! I LOVED IT, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I think we're going fishing again next week on my vacation, and Dad said i could take all his rods. Scott might get me my fishing licence too, so I can actually fish legally. :P

Note: peeing in the woods is easier than you may think.

My vacation starts in 3 days!!!!! Let's all do fun stuff!!

P.S. I did do that gig at Pictou Academy. Made about $40. Not as much as we all thought I'd make, but it was $40 I didn't have before. It was good, good results. :)
