I moved to Kansas

Well for starters, I am very sorry it has taken me so damn long to post something new. The past few months have been very hectic. I started a job in Novemeber that was absolutely HORRIBLE. The boss was a cranky, incompetent, ass, whom I am sure will eventually loose most of his business to his competitor and run his family business into the ground. I resigned from that job the second week of December. I guess you culd say it was a life changing moment that I had. I figured out I don't have to please everyone, I don't have to put up with other people's shit, and I certainly don't have to do things just to make other people happy. Enough about Mr. Cranky Pants and his crappy job.
In January my former pastor from Leon, who is now a pastor in a little town in Kansas (his family moved to be closer to their parents as they are getting older and need some care) came to visit. Anyway he knew a guy thatowned a bunch of funeral homes in Kansas and who was interested in finding an employee. A week later I ahd a job interview set up and they offerd me the jpob that day and I took it.
I started moving stuff to Kansas the last week of January and I started work on the 1st of February. I didn't have time to find an apartment in Lawrence so I took an open room in a house in Topeka, which has been pretty good. I live with two other girls who are about my age and are full time students at Washburn University. They are very nice and I like that the house is not very far from the interstate so it is a quick 25 minute drive to work.
My first day was great. Everyone is so nice and thoughtful and funny and everything you would want in coworkers and management. I love the building too. It is almost new and has a really nice fell to it. One of the owners collects antiques and he has put many of them in it and it has a gorgous stained glass window in the main lobby that we leave lit up all the time. Anyway, on my first day I went in at 8:30 and my manager had to be at another location to take care of some things and so his daughter, who is a part time secretary, showed me around some and we took some time to get to know each other. I then tried to make a good impression by finding things that could be done so tat they would realize i can kind of see what needs to be done and what things could be done to make the whole operation run smoother. I cleaned out desk drawers and retyped contact lists that were really out of date and had random thigs added and crossed out on them. I think I made a pretty good impression. Once my manger got back we went over how to do some different things and I got off of work at 5:30. I drove back to Topeka, made some dinner and managed to watch the first half of the Drake/ Missouri Sstate game and then my manager called and said we had a death call. I drove to Lawrence and we went tothe hospital to pick up the gentlman that had passed away and brought him abck and worked until around 11:00. I drove back to Topeka and jumped straight in the shower, and I'm not kidding you, as sson as I hopped out the phone ringed and we got a second call. So, I drove back to Lawrence, and we went and did at an home hospice care removal. Broght her back to the fuenrla home and got done working around 3:00 in the morning and I drove back to Topeka and went to bed. I had a great day. Even with the lack of sleep and the chaos, it totally rocked. But I am glad we dont get that many calls on a regular basis or I might die.
Well it is now day 4 and everything is going just as well as the first day. We have had a few odd cases, which makes the job even more interesting, and I am gearing up to do my first full funeral in Lawrence tomorrow afternoon. My manager isn't to overly excited about it though cause he wanted to watch the KU game and the superbowl, haha.
Well I guess that is it for now kids as I have got to get back to work. *smooches*
