I went a hundred miles an hour around the office trying to get all my work done so I would have time to post just in case I don't get a chance the rest of the week. As I am sure you all know this Friday is the big Iowa Laws Exam. Not freakin' out yet, but I soon will be.
I spent Friday working, in fact, I got talked into starting early because they were swamped. After work I ran over to another funeral home (funeral home to be left anonymous so as to protect the guilty) to do laundry in the student apartments laundry room. Lucky ducks not only get separate bedrooms and a huge kitchen, but laundry facilities to boot. I was there FOREVER. It took me so damn long to do three loads of laundry, that if we had not had movies to watch, I would much rather have hauled it to the coin laundry and sat with the crazy woman that comes in late at night to make friends.
Saturday was the same thing at work and as soon as I got done I put on my p.j.s and went to bed. I slept almost straight through until Sunday except for waking up with a massive migraine that struck around 10 p.m. I took three times the recommended dosage of Aleve (yes, I know kiddos, it can cause you to stroke out, but at the time I really didn't care).
Sunday I worked until 5 and then I went on an adventure. I traveled to this town called Elgin in search of some stimulus and really all I found was this kid named Guy and his sidekick Jimmy, whose grandparents are actually from Leon, WHAT THE HELL ARE THE ODDS! Anyway, I decided they needed more excitement in their lives and it was so obvious that they were enamored by my drop dead gorgeous looks that I didn't have to even sucker them into going out to eat and then to see the new Rob Zombie flick. I so give it two pollexs up (Dara, I thought you would enjoy my anatomy banter). It was definitely grotesque and demented but hey I found it slightly amusing and the music was a great touch (Can't believe they used "Free Bird", it seemed so inappropriate).
After the movie Jimmy ran away and I was stuck with Guy. We ended up wandering around in the woods, late at night, and unsupervised and were attacked by a small posse of raccoons. All I have to show for our adventures in Elgin is a ticket stub and vicious bite marks left from the raccoon attack.
Overall, I would say Elgin is a decent place for adventures, but I would recommend not eating at the Fridays (I know someone that works there and the idea of them touching my food makes me want to hurl) and I would recommend leaving Wilmette early in the evening so you don't end up having to drive home at 2 in the morning, (almost squished a heard of horny deer, seriously, they were really horny, probably at least 10 point bucks).
