Well, I did not go to Wild Nights, and it was a good thing because my gall bladder, which has been bothering me since Sept. 2010, acted up that weekend. That Monday, I saw a surgeon and because the gall bladder had been going on for so long and causing enough pain that I needed narcotic meds to sleep, he decided that it needed to come out ASAP. Well, I thought it would be about another month or so, no. He wanted it out that Thursday. Not about to argue, I agreed. So, my alarm went off at 5:45am, which is damn early for me considering I am normally going to bed at that time, and I got ready. By 8:30am, I was out like a light...no counting backwards from 10 to 1, in fact, the last thing I remember was moving from my comfy bed to the operating table and saying yes to something. Next thing I get is a nurse yelling at me to breathe...I have a tendency to breathe very lightly when I sleep and she was nervous about that. Plus, they like to get your blood oxygen levels up in the 90's before they let you out of recovery. i growled at her that i was breathing and they sat me on an incline for better breathing. I just wanted to sleep off the anethesia, she kept bugging me to breathe. Much growling ensued on both sides. After a bit, i was taken back into my room and allowed to wake up more fully, which didn't take long with no one yelling at me. I was up and on my feet, dressed and ready to leave the hospital by 1:30pm. Amazingly, the only painkillers I have needed since i've been home has been Tylenol, just plain old Tylenol. Once home, I crashed and slept. The next few days included much sleeping and only drinking liquids. Ahh, but now the best part. Last night, I met with a bunch of furs at the Denny's off I-240&Penn. The best part? I ate REAL food!! And it was DAMN good!!! :o) So, my oly restriction now is that i have to take it easy until the Dr. gives me the ok to do things. As long as driving and eating are an ok thing, I'm good. The rest will come with time. All in all, I was treated very well by the staff and Dr's at OU Medical Center in Edmond...even though I needed an ER visit on Friday (Yes, the day after surgery) because my bandages came off of my tummy incision. They cleaned me up, taped me back up and sent me on my way in short order. I would recommend this facility to anyone who needs this kind of thing done. Anyway, off until later. I think my pillow is call me again. ^^
