Remember me, cause I'll be with you in your dreams...

I'm off tonight, but today was more of a trip down Memory Lane. Mom and I decided (since she was feeling better) to go to Maplewood to see my relatives. Before we got there, Mom and I bought flowers in a vase for them. The most appropiate thing I heard was a song on my burned CD called "With You in Your Dreams" by Hanson. The lyrics are here: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/hanson/withyouinyourdreams.html

My grandfather died the year my mother was born (1944) and my grandmother died the year I was born (1982). But what made me feel better about visiting them was after Mom and I put the flowers in the vase with the tombstone, there was a good breeze blowing. How did it get better? When I visited my aunt Evelyn and my uncle William and put the vases on their gravesites, the breeze kicked up again. I asked Mom if they liked the flowers, and she said this: "It had been a long time before someone took the time to lay flowers down to remember them."

Me: Mom, why do people just forget about the dead like that?
Mom: I don't know, honey. Maybe they're too busy worrying about themselves, which is pretty obvious.
Me: Like me?
Mom: No, not you. You wanted to take them flowers, and they love them. See, your Uncle William and Aunt Evelyn would have loved anything. Mom and Dad (HER mom and dad, not my dad's) wouldn't have cared, either.

I better get off here for now. I'm about to break down crying again just remembering everything. Laters.
