Jury Duty
Tomorrow at 7:45am I will report for jury duty at the third judicial circuit court in downtown Detroit. It is the largest circuit court in Michigan. I hoped and prayed that I would call in this evening after 5pm and they would say juror group number 404 does not have to report, but that didn't happen. I've already planned my outfit so that I can buy myself a few extra minutes in the morning to sleep in as I don't normally get out of bed until 7:30am.
Today I had the day off work in lieu of the Columbus Day holiday so I picked my niece up this afternoon and took her to the mall. Tomorrow is her 13th birthday and she's getting harder to shop for so I figured I'd take her shopping and let her pick out her own birthday present. She opted for a sweater at American Eagle that was way over priced (even on clearance) and 2 pair of jeans that were buy 1 get 1 free at Wet Seal (score!).
I spoke to my grandmother this afternoon too. She just spent 6 days in the hospital for uncontrollable diarrhea. She was diagnosed with crohn's disease in her 60's and it's taken up a life of its own in her body. She sounded very weak and tired but for an 87 year old woman she was still making wise cracks.
