Clint's barely ten feet out of Medical when hears footsteps pounding down the corridor behind him. Out of habit, he steps to the side but instead of passing him by, a body collides into him from behind.
"You fucking idiot," Darcy yells when he pivots and barely stops from slamming her into the wall. She's still wearing her thick wool coat and smells like sharp ozone. She must have come straight here from the helicopter that brought her and Jane back from the bullshit mission Fury sent them on.
He forces his hands to let her go and he takes a step back. "Darcy, please. It's been a really long day."
"No," she says, shoving at his shoulder. "We're doing this right now. I get yanked out of bed in the middle of the night and sent off to the middle of nowhere with Jane, Coulson's not answering his phone, and I have to find out from some junior SHIELD agent that you got zombie-fied by Loki."
"I also helped save the world. Don't know if your junior agent managed to mention that part," he says, not hiding the bitterness in his voice.
Darcy rolls her eyes. "Duh. No one needed to tell me that part."
Her hand flies up to the butterfly bandage on his temple. "You went through a window again, didn't you?"
Clint turns into her palm and kisses the underside of Darcy's wrist. "Yeah, I did."
