WOW, this day will not end. I am staring at sheets of numbers, figures, and paperwork that make my eyeballs hurt. LOLZ DEADLINES, WHAT ARE THOSE?

Ryan turned away from the mirror to eye Brendon. The boy in question was looking at Ryan as though it should be very obvious as to why he was confused. It made him feel like he was missing something and Ryan Ross very rarely ever missed anything.
"Um. Getting ready. Why?"
Brendon's brow furrowed. "But you're putting mascara on."
And yeah, that was a little girly, especially when you're going on a date with a girl- and he's been told you probably shouldn't wear MORE make up than your girlfriend, but Beckett could fuck off- but he'd gone on dates with mascara and eyeliner and eyeshadow all over the place before and it had never been an issue. So why was Brendon looking at him like the evening would be doomed if he kept his damned mascara?
"Yeah. I do that a lot, in case you hadn't noticed. You've never cared before."
Brendon had the nerve to look exasperated. Exasperated! Ryan almost glared at him.
"But it makes your eyelashes all gunky and hard! What are you going to do about butterfly kisses?" The words came out so sincere and maybe even actually worried that no, Ryan couldn't really glare at him, but he could stare at him like he'd just sprouted a daisy from the top of his head.
"What the fuck is a butterfly kiss?"
Now Brendon was staring, looking almost scandalized. Ryan wanted to snap at him to go back to fucking, what, looking through the Elton John Glasses Catalouge or whatever the hell he'd been doing before. He almost wished there WAS an Elton John Glasses Catalouge, just to distract him long enough for Ryan to slip out to his date WITH his mascara, thank you very much. But then he'd have to look at Brendon in increasingly distrubing frames and no, it was really just as well that the magazine didn't exist.
"Dude, you've never had a butterfly kiss? That's- that's so sad! They're the best." Brendon informed him and looked at Ryan with something very close to pity. Now it was Ryan's turn to look exasperated.
"Are you going to tell me what they are, or...?"
Instead of answering him, Brendon fixed him with a thoughtful look. Ryan almost swallowed; a thoughtful Brendon usually resulted in strange, strange happenings. He almost felt the need to brace himself, but he mostly just ended up fidgeting, toying with the mascara in his hands, just barely managing not to jump when Brendon started towards him. He was right- a whole manner of strange things started happening when one of Brendon's hands reached up to cup the side of his face: his chest tightened and flooded with warmth, his breath caught, and he nearly stumbled into the sink counter behind him, eyes wide and unable to leave Brendon's. He was leaning in, for all the world looking like he was going to steal a kiss, and for some inexplicable reason Ryan was not stopping him.
Then, Brendon tilted his face ever so slightly, and Ryan felt the soft, ticklish brush of eyelashes against his cheek. Butterflies burst into flight in his stomach.
"Oh," Was all he could manage.
When Ryan left for his date, he was wearing just as much mascara as he ever did. Brendon was perplexed, but Spencer just rolled his eyes; he knew, Ryan had never liked to share.

Also! Gah, butterfly kisses are like, my favorite ever (along with many other things), and this was PERFECT. Brendon thinking it's tragic that Ryan does not know about butterfly kisses, and Ryan's cluelessness. And mascara. MASCARA!
But seriously, though. I'd quote things, but I love it all. And the actual part where Brendon went in for the kill made me seriously giddy. I love you, so very much. Loooooooooove.

Indulging your brain is FUN. And I kind of couldn't help myself now that the idea is there, you fiend, filling my head with your insanity. AND YES, those two really do need to become friends. It's too fantastic not to happen.
