The Closing of Con Season 2K10

Oct 10, 2010 18:58

Been back from Motaku in Kansas City for about an hour now. Con was good overall. I had a good time.

With that said, Con season for myself has now come to a close. I'm not going to attend any more cons this year so I can concentrate on my finances a little harder (i.e., catching myself up on bills and food and saving for Illinois home buying for next year). Even though I didn't get a chance to go to some of the cons I wanted to this year (thanks mostly to the problematic but now extinct Violet Vixen which I was still in possession of), I'm glad I was able to go to ones I did...and hey, I got to go to one out of town on my own for once (even though I did host a roommate over the weekend), so that was good on my front.

My next con will now be in January, which for right now is a toss-up between Anime-ZAP, which is a two-day event in Peoria, Illinois, and Ohayocon in Columbus, Ohio. More than likely if I attend Anime-ZAP, I'll be once again going on my own (no roommate, nothing) but the upside is that would be cheaper since I'd only be in a hotel room for one night instead of two, and if I attend Ohayaocon, I might end up going with a group if they're still planning on going (I'd probably be reserving a room for myself but if anyone in the group wants to share, I'd be willing to host them). Won't know for sure until maybe November/December. Still a long ways off, but it's something to consider.

With that said, I'm going to do some studying for my biology test tomorrow and then go to bed...I have work in the morning. Late.

cons, future plans
