The Wildfox's Weekend O' Horrors

Nov 12, 2007 07:36

Well, I knew this weekend was going to be a disasterpiece. I just didn't know how bad it actually would be. Lemme recap.

Friday: A 1797 piece truck...and only 6 people on the floor and 4 people in the backroom to work stuff. Nowhere near enough people!!! Number of call-offs: 6 number of N(o)C(all)N(o)S(how)s: 3. You do the math. Needless to say all of us are feeling pretty miserable when 06:30 came around. You think I was gonna stay later and help about? NOPE! Especially when I had to come in later that night and bust my ass again. Give me a bloody break, man!

Saturday: The best day. We got some new people that started that day and a fairly smaller truck...more than enough people to get the job done, and it got done. Thank goodness!!! That was one of the days of work that I actually liked.

Sunday: Double truck + (more) new people = not enough reliable hands. And I was so out of it from the lack of communication by both Will and Nikon telling me two different things while I'm trying to train a new team member on how to do stuff, that by the time I got to do Paper, I was way late in starting it, and way late in finishing it. Worse off, I get my hand cut by an exposed nail from one of the pallets I'm working off of. Damn thing is still killing me as I type this. Needless to say not everything got done, even with a annual toy team doing all of Toys. It was just too much, and Will and Nikon (once again) were pushing everyone to their breaking points. And worse off again, we have more double trucks coming this week. So I'm in for a "good" week at work coming up. Methinks I should invest in some more headache medicine. At this rate, I'll need it!
