This weekend marks two things. One, it's Tax-Free Weekend for school supplies and chothing in Missouri. This is the second time the state has done this. Last year was a bother for me being I was at Kmart and behind a register. This year, though, it's not as bad working Target overnight. The only thing that could make it worse for me is working the Back-to-School section of the store, seeing as how those items are going to be in high demand. The trucks we had Thursday and Friday nights were mostly BTS products, and I have a feeling it's gonna be the same for tonight, seeing as tomorrow is the last Tax-Free day of the year. Looks like it's gonna be another long night at the store. I just hope I don't get to stock the BTS section.
Number two, and this only applies for St. Louis, is the Straussenfest going on in Downtown. What this is for those who don't know is a large German-heritage street festival that takes place during the first weekend of August. Back in the day, my family went every year. This year, being has I have to work the entire weekend, I unfortunately have to miss out on the event. They do have some of the best food and some great entertainment. Not to mention, for those that love beer, it's some of the best beer around in the area. I've been thinking of heading down there and getting in on a little action before I head to work. I doubt I'll have much time to do anything though. Damn, why'd I have to work this weekend?
I just thought of something. I might get off work a little early tonight (around 04:00 or so). I'm approaching 40 hours and if I go over, that means O/T and once again, they're against O/T. That's what I get for overstaying my welcome three mornings in a row this week. But, that's okay for me. I've served my time this week. Maybe my check'll be a little bit bigger, eh?
